Service Description: The dataset contains information the centrelines of rivers, lakes and transitional European surface bodies delineated for the 2nd River Basin Management Plans (RBMP) under the Water Framework Directive (WFD), consolidated with the 3rd RBMP data if available. A total of 23 countries reported the dataset: AT, BE, BG, CZ, DE, ES, FR, HR, HU, IE, IS, IT, LT, LU, LV, NL, NO, PL, PT, RO, SE, SK, UK. For the remaining countries reporting under WFD, and for some missing water bodies in the 23 countries listed above,the [geometry] is directly copied from the SurfaceWaterBodyLine dataset, or contains an empty geometry if the surface water body was reported as a polygon in the SurfaceWaterBody dataset. The SurfaceWaterBodyCentreline dataset can be downloaded via the EEA SDI at https://sdi.eea.europa.eu.
