Service Description: The Common Database on Designated Areas (CDDA) is more commonly known as the Nationally designated areas inventory. It is the official source of protected area information from European countries to the World Database of Protected Areas (WDPA). This is version 17 and covers data reported until March 2019.

Description: The inventory is maintained by the European Environment Agency with support from the European Topic Centre on Biological Diversity. The data is annually updated through Eionet reporting. The nationally designated areas data can also be queried online in the European Nature Information System (EUNIS). The dataset is available for download at https://www.eea.europa.eu/data-and-maps/data/nationally-designated-areas-national-cdda-14.
