Service Description: The Environmental Zones layer is based on the Environmental Stratification of Europe (Metzger 2018, https://datashare.is.ed.ac.uk/handle/10283/3091).
Changes made to the original data set are:
(1) Conversion to raster (2) Expanded zones along the coastline to fully cover spatial extend of Corine Land Cover and avoid NoData gaps
(3) Extension of missing parts in Turkey
(4) Added Canary Islands, Madeira archipelago and Azores as zone "Macaronesia"
(5) Added Iceland as zone "Arctic"
